MotoGP @ Laguna Seca 08 & Pacific Coast Memorial Ride
So it's about time to start thinking about Laguna Seca for this year.
I'll be riding down the west coast all the way from Seattle (and north) expecting to take 4 days each way. Who else is making or considering making the same trip? Interested in a Bikeland group ride?
This will also be (at least part of) the west coast portion of the Tribute Relay flag ride. If you aren't able to make the whole ride, come out for a day ride so you can sign the flag and meet some of your fellow Bikeland members.
Arrival Thurs or Fri (July 17/18)? Leaving Sunday afternoon or Mon morn? Motel or camping? (I've come to prefer the motel version given how little it costs, how much more comfy it is, and how much less you can pack).
Camping on Fox hill still available. Remember it is 2 bikes per camping pass (takes a bit of the edge off the $50 per night price tag).
Who's in? If you're joining the ride or staying at fox hill, let me know! If you have a question mark beside your name before, it means i'm not sure. Please contact me to confirm.
Joining the ride down:

Staying on Fox Hill:

igm118icbm?
Day 1: Thru Seattle ending in north Oregon
Day 2: Oregon coast or I5 to Grant's Pass and over to coast, night somewherr between Crescent City and Eureka
Day 3: Down the coast, maybe a little play back and forth to the 101, night anywhere from Fort Bragg to Petaluma
Day 4: thru SF and down the coast to Laguna
Will set exact route based on desired outcome and any other input from whoever signs up.

What dates are you referring to?
If I can't make it, how about letting me and my friends take you guys on a 'tour' up Mt. St. Helens to there rebuilt observatory? It's an awesome ride on mostly new pavement, a 'must ride' for any sport biker! Trust me, its one detour none of you will regret. This is just the last 15 miles or so of it:

I'm thinking leaving Seattle on Mon or Tues (18/19) to arrive Thurs or Fri.
Heard about Helens many times, haven't ridden it yet. Not sure if this trip will allow the time unfortunately, but I'll let you know it it can fit.

But even if I could, I would get there on a off weekend so I could run it again. It's been 18 years since I hit the corkscrew...

Yeah Fish, I'll take you to St. Helens too. As long as you bring that new 'Busa. I'm curious about how it fairs compared to my Slip-ons, flies out '06 ZX-14.
I can also guarantee that as long as you aren't a "frEEk" (pun intended ) you will get along great with the group of guys we will be riding with: IE, they aren't like me, they actually qualify as normal.
I swear Mr. Antlers, you are the king of one word posts that leave everyone scratching there heads about what you are asking...

As far as the PCH ride down, I'll gladly meet up with you guys anywhere south of the Cannukistan border and ride the day with you all. How many of you are caging it from Canada? This gonna be a bikes only thing, taking the backroads (like highway 9 that parallel's I-5) then maybe a ferry ride from Edmonds to Kingston http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=47.78225,-122.436447&spn=0.323897,0.63446&z=11
Or?? Let me know what day and time you will be hitting Burlington and I can meet you guys there. Just got to put in for the day off.

hey sticks, would love to have to along for a bit. No idea how many people, there will be me, and beyond that I don't know for sure. Most of the group will liekly be determined by who joins this thread.
Kaz, keep in mind this is almost 2 months away, so hopefully your work load has eased off by then? WOrst case you could always choose to skip the race and just do one direction of the ride with the group, then do the other leg quickly on your own (rahte rthan taing the time to enjoy the ride and play a bit).

Might be able to swing a few things, just need to know a few basics like: How many hours will it take you to reach Burlington? How many miles/hours you planning on riding the first day, and where were you planning on stopping the first night?
My brother in law is willing to lend me his brand new 30' RV trailer, thinking I could park it at a camp site off the road to the summit of St. Helens, then meet you at I-5 near there. Then make the ride to the summit and back down to the RV... then drink some brews and shoot the shit. It's got 4 bunks, 2 covertible beds, and 1 master bedroom (mine unless someone brings a lady. Or Freek and Kaz hook up! ) Beats a tent and no hotel charges!
The RV is just conjecture at this point, need specific dates you will be here so I can check availabilities at the camp sites etc...
