As far as hp number from the crank to the rear wheel.... 15% is not accurate.
the 2000 zx12r was rated in the manual at 178 hp wherever they measured it, crank or counter shaft. in reality they put down 162 on most dynojet dynos. Mine did. so that's a 16 hp loss. the zx14 is in the same area.
The 06-07 zx14's were rated at 191ps that's about 187 hp. Look at what they put down on the dyno with stock exhaust.
So if these bikes are making 210 ps that's about 206 hp and take off the 16 hp to the rear wheel and you have........190 rwhp.
Any way you slice it the bike is 20 more hp. About the same as the jump from the cbr1100xx to the busa in 1999.
I'm sure the 47mm throttle bodies are going to yield at lease the 8hp that the first gen picked up with the 47mm units. Most likely this motor will pick up more.
An exhaust might yield 10 hp. They are making the factory units so good now that you are typically gaining less and less by putting a pipe on nowadays.
so 190 rwhp + 8 hp from the 47mm throttle bodies and 10 hp from a pipe.... That's right where our super sport head package is on the 2006-2010 models when you have a pipe on the bike.
I just dont see anyone buying a 2012 Busa now. Unless you have to have a "busa" because "busas are the fastest bike in the world".

Kawi claimed 197hp with ram air for the 06 14, and 200 for the 08 and up. So following that trend 210 would be a 10hp gain over the current bike. Sounds fairly close to what a lot of us predicted, maybe slightly lower lol, and sounds about right considering they didn't raise the comp ratio enough to matter, and just stroked it with slightly more aggressive cams and no change in the valve sizes. Ricky even said in an apologetic way in his thread here that he thought kawi was estimating low on the hp rating for the new 14. I'm sure its a little quicker, but as dyno's and track times start developing in the real world I'm sure we're going to see where it really stands in the hp and acceleration department. I have to say I like the new look alot, and considering the current 14 is already fast as hell, I think the new 14's going to be an even better 14 in every way. And I do think the stroked motor is going to have an ungodly amount of low end torque :-) .....in fact I think most of these engine changes probably were aimed more at torque increase rather than hp.
I do wonder though if they did the changes they did mainly to justify the new "tougher world economy" higher price tag. Folks wouldn't pay 15 grand for a 14 without some percieved improvements.
I might pick a used one up in a couple years though when I wear the current ride out ;-)

From Kawasaki UK website,
Looks like a small change in 1st and a larger rear sprocket.
Don't know what it all means though.
