Carrozzeria Wheels ready for the ZX-14

Spent the morning with Matsu and miss-zx for the final fitting on the
ZX-14 wheels. Matsu had everything pretty much ready to go except
his front stand would not work on the ZX - so, its call mama and yell
"help" ...... we need a front stand. We worked on the back wheel and
got it done just before she showed up - the front was easy once Beth
got there with the stand. (and Starbucks)

Matsu had to make a couple adjustments on the rear spacers and the
fronts he measured previously were spot on.

Now for the weigh in ......
Stock wheel assy rear: 37.5 lbs (wheel, tire, brake & sprocket)
Carrozzeria assy rear: 30.1 lbs (wheel, tire, brake & sprocket)

Stock wheel assy frnt: 29.1 lbs (wheel, tire & brakes)
Carrozzeria assy frnt: 26.0 lbs (wheel, tire & brakes)

Easy to see .... 10.5 lbs of rotating mass. Even Matsu was pleased with
the numbers we saw, he had expected a little less than that in savings.

Carrozzeria / Matsu are A-1 ....... Thank You !

Bob, you gonna do some suspension work?

I'm 210 geared, and the suspension seems to need some help.
Thinkin of Ohlins rear, and ohlins cartridges and heavier springs.

Does Ohlins have a rear shock out yet?

Penske told me they would give me 10% off the list price of $795 if I sent my shock in for a model. Not really a deal so I passed. I'm having a local motorcycle suspension shop respring and revalve my front and rear suspension.

Yep ..... im about 215 geared. On my ZRX i've got Ohlin froks and shocks, what
a difference in handeling they made on that bike.

Im just waiting on Ohlins for the 14 !

It's hard for me to recommend Carrozzerias after I received this non-matching set for my 12R. Sent them back, and even spoke with Matsu. When they returned them, they still didn't match. And they cost me $1500:

The handeling is soooooo different, kinda like when I did the Dymags
on the ZRX. I cannot start to explain what 10.5 lbs of rotating mass
does for handeling .... its awesome ! This morning when I rode it felt
like a whole new bike all over again.

Now Matsu had the new Pilot Power Two's on the wheels, so the
combination of the wheels and PP2s really really changed every-
thing quite a bit. All I would say is this is a must do mod.

Start a "kitty" for your wheels ......... You'll be happy you did !
