I'd rather mod cars....lane splitting is dangerous but very a very convenient option in crappy traffic conditions.

I got pulled over on my Busa in Clearwater for splitting lanes, and I spent an hour while the cop verified it was legal in Cali. He let me go with a warning, but I was lucky.

They must not have much crime there if the officer spent an hour just to validate your claim.

Glad I don't live in LA, that place sucks horses tits when it comes to traffic.
They should make it law that everyone ride motorcycles....now that would be fun.

Lane splitting is where you have so many people that believe they have the correct understanding of when they can and can not lane split along with what the acceptable rate of speed as it relates to cars crawling in traffic etc. etc.
Check out the CVC as it relates to lane splitting in Cali and post up your "quote" from it.
Let the floodgates open.....

Dude, I read the quote referenced above 4 times and still can't understand it. You are doing great at getting your post[whore] count up. Try taking the focus off quantity and work on quality.
From the CHP website...
"Can motorcycle riders "split" lanes and ride between other vehicles?
Lane splitting by motorcycles is permissible but must be done in a safe and prudent manner."

....I'm not an enforcer, but I play one on TV...anyway, lane splitting can be done in California but only when it is done in a reasonable and prudent manner...ie. in the perfect world: if traffic is crawling at 25mph on a posted 65mph roadway, it would be reasonable to split the lanes in a safe manner at no more than 15mph faster than the slower vehicular traffic...if you split the lanes and go blasting by the slower traffic at 65mph just because the posted speed limit indicates 65mph, you could be subjected to a traffic enforcement stopy an LEO and ticketed for speed unsafe for conditions...trust me...
remember: the posted speed limit is just that...the speed LIMIT....it doesn't mean that you get to drive your vehicle at that speed all the time anytime...lack of due care while driving on your part makes you sign our autograph...trust me
