Zx14 motor blown
My son got his 2006 zx14 to the track last year and had a couple of good passes and on the 3rd pass threw a rod. After that we had been informed that it's not uncommon for 2006 and earlier to have oil feeding issues. So at this point he is in search of a new motor 2008 or later. We are in Richmond Indiana if anyone has one to part with! But my question is can we use the same cluster from his 2006? Also are there any other motor swap issues going from 06 and earlier to the later motors? Thanks in advance.

No such thing as an earlier than 06 zx-14 motor. Any motor from 06-11 will drop right in your sons bike and fire right up. Prefer 08-11 to get revised pistons and other engine internals. Use your current TBs and fueling will be good to go. It's a pretty straight forward swap as well. BTW.. you can thro a rod off any engine.. busa's, 06-07 zx-14s and 08-11 14s.. whatever... it happens! Ya know?
