Just so I keep this ontopic, I would bet there's more gay guys riding R1's than RSV4's! 
Seriously though, that V4 sounds like one cool bike, just once again priced too high. Why is it that Ducati is going with lower prices at the same time others are trying to up the ante? Even Yamaha with there Vmax @$18K. Just because something is from Europe should not automatically mean you have to pay more for it!

true all that - Actually with the whels, mods, full Ohlins suspension the Aprilia may be a bargain. I know a guy who did the suspension alone on his 2009 R1 and it was over 4K

I get what you are saying, BUT: what would that cost have been to Yamaha to make the R1 that way from the factory? An extra $1500? Maybe less?

No I don't think thats the way to look it it? Just the front forks (buying in mass bulk) for the Yamaha 06 limted edition cost Yamaha more than that from Ohlins, and thats not counting the rear shock

my bad, I fvcked up with the mirror as I mentioned in flyboy's "bash stevewfl" thread
I apologize, once or twice a year should be allowable as much as I post. I'm usually looking out for the interest of the site and was trying to drive some extra hits/traffic to the R1 forum
