You know that is correct every man has his price, how much will it take?
But you know there are just some things in life that are priceless.
I would hope you would not sell your kid or your old lady out, I would hope you have some value in your life that you would not sell everything that has meaning to you.
Every man has his price, but not every man has pride brother, just depends where you draw the line, if you draw a line.

No, I don't believe everyman has his price. A truly, truly happy and content man or woman, given enough time to think it over, could honestly tell you "No Thank You" to ANY offer if it involved them becoming something that they werent before.
And then you have those stubborn yet honorable souls that will use different words and a finger gesture to tell you the same thing. Just because they dont like you. I think Fish falls into the latter category.
I do kinda feel guilty about the owners missing out on a potential payday though. For no loads like me who don't give them any $$ for the use of this quality site. Guess it's time to buy another Bikeland hat. Ordering it now Fish!

Heehee ... I got one from Kawiforums the other day as well, now I know why....
I figure it's just the pendulum swinging back and forth, and this "buying up" will result in a surge of new enthusiast driven sites if the rest of the world shares the opinions here.....

quote: VerticalScope seems to be sucking up enthusiast born forums of automotive/powersports, technologies and general sports topics to create some sort of self serving, monolithic, advertising opportunity.
These to links seem to kinda define their "goals".

http://www.verticalscope.com/aboutus/ouredge.html
After just a brief visit to some of their latest acquisitions, it seems that they all look strikingly similar. One can only assume that there will be slow "sterilization" of editorial content to make it more appealing to potential advertisers.
If I were one of the former owner, administrator or even moderator of one of these forums, I'd puke everytime I'd open a forum. I'm pretty sure VS would lock me out within 48 hours.
They deleted the one-and-only post I put on R6MN the day they converted it, where I said it was too much commercial crap for me to want to stay.
There are a few refuges left.

Well, the anvil has finally dropped on DucatiMonster.org. I saw their closed for remodeling sign and knew it was finally time. Sure enough it happened like all before it and the bickering and bitchfest has started. Hopefully it and all other VS boards dry up and fade away. They have themselves so broadly based and commercially supported it will take a great many people upset enough to cease posting and avoid purchasing anything from it's advertisers to hurt them.
