Honda Releases All-New VFR1200F for 2010
Staying true to the Internet rumors - Honda today announced the Spring 2010 release of their long-awaited VFR1200F. Stuffed full of technology, the new 1237cc V4 employs features such as fly-by wire throttle, combined anti-lock brakes, an available 6 speed tiptronic style dual clutch transmission, seamless fastener-less bodywork, sliding CV joint shaft drive and more. Price and further specs are TBD. Claimed curb weight for the fully automatic version is 613lbs, while the 6 speed manual slipper clutch equipped unit weighs 22lbs less.

Fish, you lucky dog!! Thanks for getting this to us. I've been wondering what's next from Honda, I've been hoping for a 1500 Blackbird but WTF? This bike looks a little LOOOOng...no? And the tail end looks weak with 2 riders on it....wonder what the price and HP is?....Sticking with the Connie for now....

Yeah...but the 12R was much more sport oriented. Chain drive, shorter wheelbase...nearly 50 lbs. lighter.
The 14 really picked up where the 12R left off...in a sport touring sense, at least.
There has yet to be real replacement for the 12R...the bike had a bit of an identity crisis, unfortunately. Great bike, but basically a big, powerful, heavy sportbike. Not much of a sport touring slant at all.

not sure if I agree with you on that... the 12R had a certain "techy" factor to it that other bikes since have lacked... a lot of 12R guys didnt like the 14 .... anyways... it's all conjecture until someone get to ride the thing ____________ What business is it of yours where I'm from, Friendo?

Yeah, I'm sure the 12R guys who didn't like the 14 are going to trade their 12's for a 600 lb. shaft drive, 60" wheelbase, sport-tourer.
I like the looks of this Honda...but it is what it is...

Is it just me or do all modern motorcycle exhuast engineers have matal retardation issues ?
Nice bike but WTF on that exhuast can ?
I would really want to try that tiptronic before I actaully bought one .....

My take is this
60mm stroke and 10k RPM redline doesn't sound like loads of low end torque for the relatively low top end.
single overhead cam means what more frequent valve adjustments or hydraulic followers
4.9 gal tank ours is 5.8 lots of full-ups short range sounds like unless it gets incredible mileage.
whats with the bobbed sports tail with the plastic rear fender like a track bike that is meant to be removed on a sport tourer could use some more built in storage instead
probably work good though being its a Honda I myself would like a shaft drive ZX14 for low maintenance and lots of power and still a sports bike like the BMW K1300S

If I was into riding long distances, I would look into this bike. It looks great, it's a Honda, and the automatic could be a pretty cool option.

Flawless execution of an ambiguous concept...or something like that. I'm not sure what this bike is really about. I'm not enamoured with its looks but that's totally subjective. To me this bike makes more sense with hard integrated saddle bags, more comfy passenger accommodations, taller windscreen etc a la C14. There's also something very BMWesque about this machine, sort of a mating of high technology in a refined but like said before, somewhat purpose-ambiguous package.
