C14 vs ZX14 horsepower

Seriously considering an `10 C14 at the dealers. Sold my `08 ZX14 a while ago. Curious about the horsepower difference between the two. Not that its that important but just curious.

There is a difference. My ZX seem to have unlimited HP and you could twist the throttle forever. The power band seems more defined on the C14. The C will throw you back but not off as it felt sometimes on the Ninja.

If you buy the conny, you will forget how fast the ZX was...but if you get on the ZX after riding the conny for a while the ZX will take your breath away with it's speed and power....get back on the conny and you will forget again...

I think that for someone who came off the ZX and is concerned about the power they should remove the flies and from what everyone says it is day and night.

As much as I hate to admit it I guess I`m to the point in my life where I have to go for a bit more comfort this time around. Hopefully I can sit on this thing for more than 30 minutes without my neck and bony ass getting sore.

Now the question is an `10 in blue ,my favorite color or an `11 in silver, haven`t been to the dealer yet to see that one.

Phil, I too have a bony ass and a bad back and my normal weekend ride is seldom less than 400 miles. Stopping only for gas and bladder drainage. Fuel and bladder are timed well.
I have done over 1000 in a day and lived to tell the tale. Not to say I wasn't sore from such a long day but it didn't cripple me either. That was almost a 20 hour day.

Seriously, it is the finest motorcycle I have ever owned.
The only problem is the stock tires, when new they aren't too bad but the handling goes downhill fast. Put some Michelin PR2s or PR3s and you get a new motorcycle.

Well WTF? Where is your first story? The tires that are on it are just fine to break in the bike and flog for a while, the good part is the new ones will make you swear it is a new sport bike.

Not much to tell yet Ted, buy the time I got it home I had just enough time to get the grass mowed before more rain. Thats all it`s been doing around here is raining. Getting sick of it.

I do get the feeling I`m going to like this bike more than I thought I would. Looks like sunny weather friday and maybe saturday so hopefully will get some miles on her.

Let me give you a hint. That big faring protects you from the rain. Even the shit tires work better in the rain than sport bike tires. Get some waterproof gear and head out. I do it all the time and have had a ball.
Also stiffen up the suspension a bit and add a bunch of rear damping, it will handle well.

Rode her to work all week. Temp in the low 40`s in the mourning with drizzling rain. Still it was pretty comfy, tires seem to stick good, better than I thought.

Starting to look like a cold, wet, windy summer.

Truer words have never been spoken...but my Connie is plenty quick and wheelies quite effortlessly!

Been ages since I've been on. Unfortunately, I couldn't remember my old account info, so created a new one.

Picked up the 2011 C14. Very happy with it, big improvement over my 2005 Sprint ST.

Pulling the flies does give the Connie more grunt but swapping the 40mm throttle bodies with a set of 44's from a ZX14 is the ticket. Install those, a full pipe & PC with a BMC filter and it's a new beast.

Great bikes them Connies!!!!

I have been doing some port work on the zx-14. I also grabbed a connie head for parts (same valves and buckets ) and was surprised that they flow the same as a zx-14 .....
