KAWASAKI LAUNCHES CUSTOM CRUISER TOUR FOR 20052005-02-13 13:01
February 11, 2005
Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. today announced the schedule for its Custom Cruiser Tour (CCT), a traveling exhibit which showcases the customizing potential for its Vulcan® line of cruiser motorcycles.
For 2005, the tour will travel to nine major enthusiast events, beginning with Daytona Bike Week in March and concluding in October at the Steel Pony Express in New Orleans.
Some of the bikes on display include showroom stock Vulcan cruisers and accessorized models featuring Authentic Kawasaki Fire & Steel accessories. Plus, at select events, CCT will mesmerize show-goers by spotlighting bikes that have been transformed into stunning and exotic creations by some of the most famous names in customizing, including Arlen Ness Motorcycles, Baron's, Cobra Special Projects/Denny Berg, Corrupted Concepts and Damon's Motorcycle Creations.
Tom Orbe, vice president of sales and marketing at Kawasaki, said CCT helps to stretch the imagination of cruiser enthusiasts - and it does it all with a Kawasaki flair.
"For a lot of riders, customizing their bikes is a top priority - this tour helps them visualize the potential for transforming their bikes into personalized machines," said Orbe.
Sales of the Vulcan motorcycle line have been steadily increasing, especially since Kawasaki introduced the award-winning Vulcan 2000 and, most recently, the Vulcan 1600 Nomad. Orbe said these particular models are drawing cruiser enthusiasts to the Kawasaki brand because of their unique, leading-edge designs.
"Kawasaki's approach to making great cruisers and accessories is becoming more aggressive each year, and CCT helps to reinforce our commitment to this segment of the market," he said.
