Marquez seventh fastest in 125 cc qualifying on Misano circuit

Marc Marquez of the Red Bull KTM Moto Sport Team put in a solid session on the Misano circuit in San Marino on Saturday to finish seventh fastest ahead of the 125 cc GP on Sunday.

Starting from the second row, the 16-year-old Spaniard will have an excellent chance to stick with the front runners in Sunday's race, which should put him in the running for a good result. Marquez said after the session that he was satisfied with the settings on his KTM machine and hoped to put in some consistent laps in the warm-up session. It is widely considered only a matter of time before the talented young Spanish rider starts scoring top results.

Cameron Beaubier, the factory team's 16-year-old American rider admitted he had some difficulty with the Misano circuit and struggled to improve his lap times. Cameron's should injury from Brno continues to improve and he reported that it is no longer bothering him while he's on the bike. He will start Sunday's race from twenty eighth spot on the grid.

Marc Marquez seventh grid position for Sunday's race:
"The Misano track is more difficult for us than I thought. Last year I had a very good feeling here, but every year is a new world. This year we had some problems but we found a good setting for qualifying and I was able to set a good time. We will try to do consistent fast laps tomorrow during warm up. My setting is more or less good, so we won't make too many changes. For the race, like always, I have to make a good start and try to stay with the front group.

Cameron Beaubier 28th grid position for Sunday's race
The track here in Misano is pretty flat and I like it, but it is difficult for me to get my times down. I experienced the most trouble when I was trying to turn in the small corners. I did feel much better in qualifying than in the free practice this morning or yesterday. We changed the rear spring so the bike would be more stable and that gave me a much better feeling for my KTM. It helped me to improve my time quite a bit, but my position is still pretty far down the grid. I need to have a good start and try to stay with the guys if I want to move my way up for a good result. The heat here is hard but it's not a big problem and my shoulder is not bothering me too much, so it should be a good race tomorrow.

Riders tacked the qualifying in summer temperatures that were off the peaks of previous days. Humidity had also dropped thanks to a stiff breeze around the circuit. Sunday is forecast to be clear with mild summer temperatures for the 125 cc GP set for 11:00 a.m. CET.
