Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Justin Hill Eyes Four-In-A-Row in Arlington

2017-02-09 08:41
With Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Justin Hill on the mend from an illness that kept him off the practice bike all last week, he is ready to go after his fourth consecutive win this weekend in Arlington, Texas. Teammate Austin Forkner enjoyed a great week on the bike after having to retire early from Oakland’s main event following a great start. The race in Texas will be the last for Hill and Forkner before the Western Regional 250SX Class takes an eight-week break.

Justin Hill #46

Hill overcame the odds in Oakland and racked up his third-straight win of the season, which propelled him into the championship points lead. The last time Hill raced inside AT&T Stadium was for his rookie debut in 2013 where he finished fifth. He’s looking to better that finish and come away with his sixth career win.

“I’ve been thankful to stay safe all these weeks and I really have to hand it to my team for giving me such great support during the moments where I needed it,” said Hill. “Starting the season with a fifth wasn’t where I wanted to be, but now we’ve found our groove and hopefully we can leave Texas with the red plate.”

Austin Forkner #24

Forkner, who currently sits sixth in the championship, has shown moments of greatness and even collected his first podium finish already during his rookie season. This will be Forkner’s first time inside the grandiose AT&T Stadium and he’s looking to earn one more podium before the break.

“As a rookie, I’ve been trying to learn from each good ride, along with each mistake,” said Forkner. “I know I have the speed to be up there with those guys and hope that I’ll get my chance this weekend in Texas. I got my first podium inside a football stadium. Maybe I can do it again.”

The race can be viewed LIVE on the Fox Sports GO app, or on Fox Sports 1 at 10 p.m. ET, two hours delayed.

Fans will have the opportunity to meet and get autographs from Hill and Forkner at Grapevine Kawasaki on Friday, February 10th, from 6-7 p.m.
