QATAR TEST - PREVIEW

2017-03-16 09:19
With just eight days until the opening round of the 2017 MotoGP World Championship gets underway at Losail International Circuit, the SIC Racing Team head to Qatar ready to take full advantage of the three final days of pre-season testing.

Johan Stigefelt – Team Manager

“In Jerez we came back to a base bike setting that we found in Malaysia, so this will definitely be our starting point for the Qatar test. These next three days will allow us to work through a few more things before the first Grand Prix next week. Ayumu and Adam have covered many kilometres already during pre-season testing, so they understand the bike well now; this is the time to really get dialled in and ready for the first race. The steps we have taken so far have been very positive, so I’m confident that we can continue like this. The aim is to be competitive from the start.”

#7 ADAM NORRODIN

“I’m really looking forward to going to Qatar; last year we had quite a good result there. I enjoy riding at this circuit a lot and now that I have a years’ experience in Moto3, I’m feeling very positive ahead of this next test. I think with the bike set-up that we have now, we can start strong and really push for good times. These three final days of testing will be incredibly important; it will give us a great opportunity to fine-tune the bike and prepare ourselves for the first Grand Prix. My aim for the Qatar test is to really focus on adapting my riding style to suit the track so that I can push hard from day one and get up to speed quickly.”
#71 AYUMU SASAKI

“We go to Qatar with a good setting on the bike; I know the track well and I like it a lot, so I’m excited for this next test. We will push from the beginning; I want to aim for the top ten. We will get to test the new fairing in Qatar and we’ll also receive a new engine, so I’m looking forward to seeing how much more we can improve with this; I think it will be good. We still have a few things to work on, so it’s great that we have three more days to perfect our set-up. I’m confident that by the end of the test we will have a strong bike ready for the first race weekend.”
