Folger pleased with progress ahead of Austrian Grand Prix2019-08-11 16:12
Jonas Folger is going into tomorrow’s Austrian Grand Prix confident about his chances on the PETRONAS Sprinta Racing bike despite coming away from today’s qualifying session at the Red Bull Ring disappointed with 22nd place.
Pleased with the progress he’s made throughout the weekend, Folger is going into the race aiming for a points-scoring finish. Showing his speed throughout practice and only unlucky to lose out in an ultra-close qualifying session that saw less than a second cover the top 24 riders, Folger is assured that he’ll be able to achieve a good result in his fifth race substituting for the injured Khairul Idham Pawi.
Tomorrow’s 25-lap Austrian Grand Prix Moto2 race gets underway at 1220 local time (1820 Malaysian time).

“It’s crazy how close the action was today; I can’t remember a day that’s been as tight as this! For some reason I’m struggling to find a little bit more speed from the bike, but 22nd is the best qualifying position I’ve had with the team so far. With everything being so tight, the guy ten places in front won’t be much faster than me, so if I can make a good start and not make any mistakes I can get into a good rhythm and try to stay close to the points.”
