Positive Moto2 debut for Norrodin at Misano2019-09-16 00:39
Adam Norrodin has made a positive start to his first weekend in the Moto2 World Championship for PETRONAS Sprinta Racing, finishing the opening day of action at the Gran Premio di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini in 30th place as he deputises for fellow Malaysian rider Khairul Idham Pawi at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.
Making big progress throughout the day’s two sessions despite jumping onto a Triumph-powered Moto2 machine for the very first time, he was able to close down the gap to the leaders by nearly a second between the two outings. Confident that he can continue to make big steps forward tomorrow, he can’t wait to continue learning on the Kalex bike.
Action continues at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli tomorrow with free practice at 1055 local time (1655 Malaysian time) and qualifying at 1505 local time (2105 Malaysian time), ahead of Sunday’s 25-lap San Marino Grand Prix at 1220 local time (1820 Malaysian time).

“It was a really exciting day and I’m really happy with what we achieved. It was great to be able to try the bike, but the work we did was very positive as well. We prepared well before going out on track, the team and I have worked well together, and the step between FP1 and FP2 was fantastic. I feel like I’m learning every time I jump on the bike and every time I complete a lap. For sure there is so much more left to learn, but we’ve made a good job so far and we can continue to improve tomorrow. The bike is a lot different from my CEV Moto2 bike, especially how you use the gearbox and the things you can change on the electronics, but I’ve really enjoyed learning from the team.”
