More progress for Norrodin at Misano

Adam Norrodin has continued to make progress in his first weekend in the Moto2 World Championship for PETRONAS Sprinta Racing, qualifying 29th for tomorrow’s Gran Premio di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini as he continues to stand in for fellow Malaysian rider Khairul Idham Pawi at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.

Continuing to close down the gap to the leaders despite high track temperatures worsening grip levels at the Misano circuit, Norrodin ended the day pleased with both his lap times and race pace. Looking forward to using tomorrow’s race as a learning experience, the 21-year-old is confident that there’s a lot of experience to be gained.

Tomorrow’s 25-lap Gran Premio di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini gets underway at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli at 1220 local time (1820 Malaysian time).

“I keep improving every time I leave the pit box, and even with difficult conditions in qualifying as the track temperature increased I was able to go faster. I still have things to learn, like how to properly manage the bike. It was my first time in the new format of Moto2 qualifying and I gained a lot of experience from being a part of it, and for sure it’s something that we can prepare better for the next time. Tomorrow’s race won’t be easy, but the whole field is very close on time. My target is to be in a group and not riding alone so that the other riders around me can teach me even more!”
