Aiding that is a track where he’s enjoyed strong results in the past in the Moto3 class, scoring well in his rookie season and running in the fight for the podium last year until he was caught out by wet conditions. Still coming to grips with the Triumph-powered Kalex machine after stepping into the squad only last month, he’s hoping to continue closing down the gap to the leaders in Motegi.

“Motegi is a special track for me, even if it isn’t the easiest circuit to go fast at. In my first year in Moto3 I did really well there, and it’s not impossible for me to have a good result this year.
