PETRONAS Sprinta Racing rider Adam Norrodin is hoping to harness home support and local knowledge to help propel him further forward in his quest for growth and improvement in the Moto2 World Championship as stand-in for fellow Malaysian Khairul Idham Pawi at this weekend’s Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix.
Norrodin heads into his sixth Moto2 weekend with the team for whom he rode in Moto3 from 2016-18. The 21-year-old who comes from Johor made consistent progress with finishes in the last three races, using the late-season call-up as a development opportunity whilst deputising during KIP’s recuperation.
Not racing this weekend, but offering support trackside will be fellow countryman, Khairul Idham Pawi - who would have been riding the full season of Moto2 for PETRONAS Sprinta Racing were it not for his hand injury sustained at the Spanish GP early in the year – has been undergoing treatment including multiple operations on his had with his focus now on a return to the Moto3 championship with PETRONAS Sprinta Racing in 2020.
To celebrate PETRONAS Sprinta Racing at their home GP, title sponsor PETRONAS ran a livery competition targeting Malaysian MotoGP fans with the #tambahpowerPSRT campaign, the fruits of which will be seen on Adam’s bike on race day at Sepang.
Moto2 track action at the Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix gets underway on Friday 1st November at 0955 local time ahead of the 18-lap race on Sunday 3rd November.
