Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Jo Shimoda Ready to Finish East Coast Race Stint with Podium

Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Jo Shimoda will line up one more time before the Eastern Regional 250SX Class takes its break until the end of April, convening upon Orlando’s Camping World Stadium. The Japanese rider has impressed many with his consistency over the past several weeks, locking in two podium finishes that have helped him earn a current spot of third in the championship standings. Teammate Austin Forkner, who suffered an injury at Round 2, will continue to be sidelined as he heals up for the final rounds.

After facing sub-freezing conditions in Indianapolis, the team is looking forward to warming up in sunny Orlando. This new challenge of racing outside, unlike the past two stops, is a welcome one. Shimoda has proven he is learning and making progress with each round, turning in finishes in the top five at each of the first six rounds.

“Jo has been our Mr. Consistency and has even gone beyond expectations so far. To be in only his second season of riding supercross, on some pretty tough tracks, he’s showing us that he’s able to learn and adapt with each challenge. We’re ready to send him off to the break with another consistent run at the podium. Since it was only one more round and Austin being on the edge of being able to return, we made the decision to keep him home to heal. We can’t wait to have him back.” - Zach White, Team R&D Manager
