Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki Hope To Make it Back-To-Back Daytona Wins This Weekend2021-03-03 07:42
Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Cameron McAdoo, Jordon Smith and Seth Hammaker are looking to keep the coveted Daytona trophy in the team’s hands with a solid showing under the lights of Daytona International Speedway this weekend. Last year the team won the unique round right before racing was suspended and are looking to take back-to-back wins this Saturday.
The riders opened their Western Regional 250SX series less than two weeks ago and McAdoo came out ready to fight for the title. He earned second, putting himself in a good position as the series heads to Round 2. While McAdoo has never raced the motocross-style track, he’s capable of quickly learning and riding to his strengths.
While rookie Hammaker has never raced under the lights of Daytona, he’s won races on the same track during the Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross event. Hammaker is hoping his knowledge of the unique circuit will provide the needed confidence to find himself out front. Teammate Smith will be returning to the same venue where he endured his season-ending injury in 2020, this time looking for redemption and a break-through ride at the front of the pack. It’s not out of the question to see Smith vying for the win as he took victory at the 2019 Daytona Supercross.
“Daytona is always a fun race on the schedule and we've had great success here in the past. Last year Garrett Marchbanks grabbed his first win and maybe McAdoo or Hammaker can make it happen for them. Smith has won Daytona before, giving us three great chances to take home the 2021 trophy. After a weekend off, everyone should be well-rested and ready to have a great weekend.” - Zach White, Team R&D Manager
