Granado and ONE Energy Racing dominate first preseason test

2021-03-08 13:50
ONE Energy Racing and Eric Granado kicked off their partnership for the 2021 FIM MotoE World Cup season with an excellent test at the Circuito de Jerez-Ángel Nieto, a track where the rider achieved victory in 2020.

The Brazilian got off to a positive start on Tuesday, going quickest in the opening two sessions. Granado completed a total of 22 laps and showed his pace by clocking the second fastest time of the day, a 1:48.602.

On Wednesday he put in another 22 laps of the Spanish track, with a consistent pace and the best lap of the MotoE field, a 1:48.143.

Thursday morning saw an even speedier time from Granado, who improved on his own track record with a 1:47.553. In the afternoon session he was second, again feeling positive about his feeling on the bike.

Eric Granado and ONE Energy Racing will return to action at the next preseason test, which will be held at the same track from April 12-14th.

#51 Eric Granado

"I'm very happy, since we have evolved and improved every day. I'm satisfied with our results at this first test. I've adapted very well to the way the team works; my technicians and mechanics are very professional and have helped me a lot with developing and understanding their way of working. We have to continue working, but we are on the right track. This has been a positive few days and I feel good about it, but this doesn't give me points in the championship, so we have to keep looking for the best way to reach the end of the race as close as possible to the front. There are things we have in mind to try out at the next test, but the first contact has been great, and I am already looking forward to next time."
