The Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team Riders Are Fired Up for Tuscany Fight

The Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team will be reunited with its original rider line-up consisting of Manuel Gonzalez and Keminth Kubo for Round 8, held at the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello.

The Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team is delighted to tackle the Gran Premio d'Italia Oakley with its usual rider line-up consisting of Manuel Gonzalez and Keminth Kubo.

Gonzalez‘s race in Le Mans was a testament to what can be achieved when you keep pushing no matter what the circumstances. Having started from P23, the Spanish rider put his head down and rode to a rewarding P11 across the finish line. The experience he gained has made him feel even more motivated to fight for championship points again this weekend at Mugello, a track he has ridden once before and really likes.

Kubo sat out the French GP following his arm pump surgery one week earlier to allow his arm to heal before going back to full attack mode. He underwent a medical check earlier this afternoon which confirmed that he is fit to take part in the Italian GP. The Thai rider is understandably very excited about the prospect of riding again. As Mugello is a new circuit for him, he is planning to gradually up his pace through the practices.

Mugello is considered one of the most beautiful tracks on the calendar thanks to its mixture of uphill and downhill sections and a variety of fast and slow turns. The 5245-metre-long Tuscan circuit hosted its first MotoGP event back in 1976 and became a permanent fixture in 1991. The Italian GP is famous for its great atmosphere and is said to be a ’must-be-at event‘ for motorcycle fans.

The team arrived at the Mugello track, the beautiful and technical circuit in Italy's Tuscany, feeling very motivated. First of all because of Kubo's return to the team, but also because of the good results achieved by Manu in the last few races. We are very aware that this track is one of the most demanding and complicated circuits of the championship. It's very fast with long and technical corners. There are curves where you have to sacrifice speed on the first one to do well on the next. In order to go fast on this track, it's very important that the riders can focus on themselves and their riding. Doing that will surely allow them to gradually improve their personal best times. The more laps they do, the better prepared they will be to have a good race. And if we manage to get a good result on this track, it will mean that we will be able to get very good results on the other tracks.

I'm very happy to be riding at the Mugello Circuit this weekend. I've ridden here last year, and I really like this track as well as this place. The circuit is fast and technical, and that's something I enjoy. You can learn a lot from riding here. And I also really like the atmosphere of Mugello. The track is beautiful and the fans are super passionate, so I will be pushing really hard for a good result again.

I feel much better! My arm is not at its maximum, but I‘m ready to ride! I missed the last two GPs, and I'm so happy to be back. I can't wait to jump on my bike Friday morning and work with my team. It's the first time for me to ride the iconic Italian Circuit, but I already know and like it because I rode Mugello in the MotoGP videogame a hundred times!
