Team HRC keen to make the Most of the Czech WorldSBK weekend

The 2022 Superbike World Championship heads towards its halfway point, with round six about to play out at the Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic which has been partially re-surfaced since the first WorldSBK round was held at the track in 2021.

The latest Donington round saw Iker Lecuona battling with physical problems, suffering with arm pump around the technical British track, but hopefully a full week of rest allowed him to recover and regain his strength. Both him and teammate Xavi Vierge are keen to head into the summer break on a high and will be doing their best to score strong results over the weekend.

Most is another new track for the two SBK rookie riders, and so the Spanish duo will need to work well with their respective technicians right from first practice in order to understand the track and adapt their bikes’ accordingly.

The Autodrom Most was completed in the early 80s and has been used for a wide variety of two- and four-wheel competitions over the years. The circuit is located in the north-east of the country, close to the German border and roughly 100 km from Prague. It currently measures 4.212 km in length and comprises a real variety of turns, 21 in all.

The first sector of the track, including the first chicane, has been recently resurfaced and the Czech circuit will feature on the annual schedule until at least 2025.

“I’ve spent a week just relaxing and resting. It was important to try and recover generally and regain strength after a very busy six weeks of testing around the world. I’ve basically not stopped recently, and I really felt it at Donington. So I’ve done my best to recover in preparation for Most, another new track where we need to start from scratch. I’ve never even seen a video of the track actually, so Friday’s free practice sessions will be crucial. In my case, this is the third of several new tracks we are going to visit this season and, so far, we have been able to adapt well, so we must keep up the good work.”

Xavi Vierge 97

“This is another new track for us and I think it’s going to be a challenging one, judging by the layout. I tried to get some idea of it in a simulator last week so that we can work well on the bike setup right from Friday morning and adapt as fast as possible in order to be competitive over the weekend.”
