Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team Warm Up for Aragon Action

2022-09-19 09:16
The Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team set up camp at the MotorLand Aragón ready to get to work. With their goals clear for Manuel Gonzalez and Keminth Kubo, the team is determined to work as a united front entering the final part of the 2022 Moto2 season.

Manuel Gonzalez already rode a Moto2 bike at the Aragon circuit once before. The experience will certainly come in handy because he aims to battle for a top-3 result in the Rookie of the Year championship in the intermediate class. He is currently holding 18th place with 44 points in the overall standings. His points total puts him in fourth place in the Rookies classification with just three points between him and the rival in third.

Keminth Kubo has been looking forward to starting the final leg of the 2022 season. After the Aragon GP, the paddock will compete in four GPs in Asia and Australia, which will feel like home to him. However, the Thai rider is certainly no stranger to the Alcañiz circuit. Thanks to his formative years in CEV with the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team, he feels confident that he can get into a solid rhythm this weekend.

The MotorLand Aragón circuit was added to the MotoGP Calendar in 2010. The track is situated near the town of Alcañiz, a few hours' drive from Barcelona. The fast 5.1km long track has ten left and seven right corners, and a 968m longest straight. It was given the IRTA Best Grand Prix of the Year award after MotoGP‘s first visit there, reflecting the riders‘ and the fans‘ appreciation of the venue.

We‘re having the penultimate European round this weekend at MotorLand Aragon, in the Spanish desert. It‘s the last part of the season, and our riders need to achieve their goals. Manu will be battling to finish the year as one of the best rookies by ending the races close to the podium. That‘s his team‘s objective since the beginning of the season. Kubo needs to battle for a finish inside the points, and we hope that he can find the luck he lost in the last couple of races.

It‘s a home race for me again! I‘m really looking forward to this weekend in Aragon. It‘s a track I know very well, where I‘m fast, and where I raced last year with Moto2. My objective is to take a top-10 finish in the race and recover the good feeling I had in Silverstone.

This will be the first of three races in a row. I‘m happy because we are going to ride in Asia soon, so I can stay close to my home country. I‘m really focused for the Aragon GP, it‘s a track I know and like. The last two race weekends have been very difficult for me, so I can‘t wait to show my potential here and get ready for the Asian tour!
