Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team Plan to Go All Out in Australia2022-10-13 07:26The Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team are ready to get to work Down Under at the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix. The Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit is a familiar venue for Manuel Gonzalez but new to Keminth Kubo. Yet, the teammates are equally excited to push for good results this weekend as they both had this GP high on their 2022 bucket list. Gonzalez has special memories of Phillip Island since it‘s where he started his WorldSSP challenge in 2020. Returning to the scene two years later in the Moto2 class is like a dream come true to him because he thoroughly enjoys this track. He showed he has top-10 pace a fortnight ago during the Thai GP qualifying and is keen to push for points this weekend. Kubo is very excited for this round‘s action. At the previous two GPs he had great pace, especially in tricky, wet riding conditions. He is keen to showcase more of his talent this weekend. Though he has never visited the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit in person before, he knows about its beautiful location and its flowing lay-out and can‘t wait to give it a try. Phillip Island hosted its first motorcycle race in 1931. In 1956 a permanently constructed circuit continued to host motorcycle Grand Prix events until it fell into disrepair during the late 70s and early 80s. After extensive renovation, the circuit made an intermediate comeback in MotoGP from 1989 until 1990, to become a regular fixture once more from 1997 onwards. Thanks to its terrific location, right next to the ocean, and its flowing 4.4km lay-out, featuring seven left and five right corners, and a 900m longest straight, the Phillip Island track is loved by fans and MotoGP riders alike. Kubo just had a great race in Thailand and a really good qualifying in Japan. He arrives at the Phillip Island circuit feeling very motivated thanks to these latest results. It's very important that he keeps working and pushing himself to try and get another good result. Manu returns to this circuit after two years. As I have said in my last statements, Manu is having good momentum. It‘s true that the results of the last races are not what we expected, but in general we are very happy since we see that he is improving a lot, and we are getting closer to getting a great result. This was the first race I did in Supersport, and I loved the track. I think we can be competitive here if we work in the correct way. The weather will be unstable all weekend, but we are already used to that. I know this circuit is wonderful. I'm going to discover and learn all its corners soon. After the great weekends I had in Japan and in Thailand, I'm really looking forward to jumping on my bike and giving my maximum.
