Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team to Push for Strong End to their 2022 Moto2 Debut Season

2022-11-04 02:30
The Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team are excited to go all out one final time this year for the 2022 Moto2 World Championship season finale at the Circuito de la Comunitat Valenciana - Ricardo Tormo this weekend. It‘s an important race as it‘s Manuel Gonzalez‘ home race and the team‘s final GP with Keminth Kubo. It makes the entire staff all the more eager to finish the season in the best way possible.

Gonzalez came tantalizingly close to his first podium last time out at the Malaysian GP. Having travelled to the Ricardo Tormo track, the closest circuit to his residence, he is feeling confident that he can do well at the final showdown. He is very familiar with the Valencian track and is keen to push to the maximum.

Kubo is also no stranger to the Cheste circuit. He has ridden here several times during his FIM CEV days with the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Team from 2019-2021. The Thai rider is determined to fully enjoy his final race with the team this weekend and end this invaluable learning experience in the Moto2 championship on a high note.

The 4.0 km Circuito de la Comunitat Valenciana - Ricardo Tormo was built in 1999 and was immediately added to the MotoGP calendar. The Valencian GP was soon known as a must-be-at event, especially when it became the traditional closing round of the MotoGP championship from 2002 onward. The circuit is often described as quite challenging. Its lay-out includes nine left corners, five right ones, an 876m longest straight, and is ran anti-clockwise. The stadium-style grandstands can seat up to 150,000 spectators and provide them with a perfect view of all parts of the track as the riders go head-to-head one final time this year.

We arrived at the last race of the year with great confidence in all of us, thanks to the magnificent results obtained on the Asian tour. The Valencia circuit is a track where the differences between the riders are minimal due to its short and winding lay-out.

Manu faces this last race super motivated since he was close to achieving his first podium in the Malaysia race. It will be important to see how his arm is doing these days. Kubo also improved a lot in the previous races. I‘m sure that in this last race he will give his best to have a great result and thus say ’Goodbye‘ in the best possible way.

It‘s the last race of the season and the closest to home for me. I want to do a very good weekend so I‘ll have nice memories to think back on during the winter. Let‘s work hard and give full gas in this track where I already did some races in the past.

I know Valencia‘s circuit and I think I can have a good performance and a good result. It will be the last race of the season, and I will enjoy it and go full gas!
