Each racing season, Kawasaki Team Green supports hundreds of amateur motocross, off-road and Arenacross racers through technical and trackside assistance.
Check kawasakimedia.com regularly for a glimpse into the lives of Kawasaki's star riders - as well as the up-and-coming champions of tomorrow. Here, the spotlight shines on Destry Abbott.
Destry Abbott, 32, is one of Kawasaki Team Green's top riders in the unpredictable, down-and-dirty world of off-road racing. Racing Kawasaki's two-stroke KX250 motorcycle, he's currently second in the points chase for the AMA National Hare & Hound Series title, and sixth in the World Off-Road Championship Series (WORCS).
Destry lives in Grand Peoria, Arizona, with his wife Charlotte and two children, Kelsey and Cooper, ages 12 and 7. Both his father and his daughter race motorcycles, so off-road competition very much a family affair for the Abbotts. And when Destry isn't racing, he enjoys playing golf, tennis and plain ol' "sitting on the couch." Destry also maintains his own web site, www.destryabbott.com, so he can give his fans a first-hand, lap-by-lap perspective of what happens on the race course.
As a three-time member of the U.S. Trophy Team competing in the International Six-Day Enduro (ISDE), Destry has raced against some of the best racers in the world, but even more impressive is the fact that he's won a championship every year since 1995. This incredible accomplishment includes four titles and three runner-up positions in the National Hare & Hound Series, four Best in the Desert titles and an ISDE Gold Medal.
With a record like that, the competition had best beware of this all-star Team Green rider.
